Transfer Innsbruck Madonna di Campiglio Transfer Innsbruck Madonna di Campiglio

Our transfer Innsbruck Madonna di Campiglio takes you to a famous ski world cup arena.

From Innsbruck Airport it takes a little less than 3 hours to reach the quiet mountain village at an altitude of 1.550.  The population of about 750 inhabitants mainly depends on tourism, which has become increasingly important in the town since the second half of the 19th century. The Austrian and European aristocracy appreciated the fantastic location of Madonna di Campiglio. Another attraction is the monastery Santa Maria di Campiglio founded in 1188. Mr. Giambattista Righi was the first pioneer for tourism. It was his idea to change the monastery into the first hotel at the beginning of the 19th century. Today it is still well known as Hotel Stabilimento Alpino.

Even the Austrian imperial couple, Emperor Franz Joseph I and his Princess Sissi, appreciated the picturesque landscape, and in 1889 and 1894 belonged to the famous guests of Madonna di Campiglio. Every February, the place remembers the visit of the Austrian imperial couple with the annual “Habsburg Carnival“.

Ski World Cup in Madonna di Campiglio: the “3-Tre-race”

The name 3-Tre-Race stands for 3 races in 3 places as well as for 3 races in 3 different disciplines:  downhill, slalom and giant slalom. The first race took place in 1957 and since then, Madonna di Campiglio has been a fixed point in the annual calendar of the Alpine Ski Circus. Up till today, the Swede Ingemar Stenmark with a total of 12 victories is clear record winner of the 3-Tre-races in Madonna di Campiglio.

On the famous World Cup piste is Canalone Miramonti with floodlight for night skiing. You can emulate the races of the ski stars. For Snowboarders and freestylers there are four snow parks  available, including the famous Ursus Snowpark, one of the five best parks in the Alps. You will find shops with exquisite and high-quality clothing, as well as traditional handicraft shops where, for example, beautiful wooden objects can be purchased. If you are hungry, you will enjoy the typical gastronomic shops, where local products such as the delicious garlic salami or the famous “Spressa Dop” cheese are offered to taste. The pretty cafes invite you to take a seat and savour a typical aromatic Italian coffee.
