Transfer Innsbruck St. Christoph

Our transfer Innsbruck St. Christoph leads us to a place with only 25 buildingsTransfer Innsbruck St. Christoph

To reach our destination at 1,793 m above sea level, we have to climb on our transfer Innsbruck St. Christoph the Arlbergpass. Now we have arrived at one of the entry points of the largest ski area in Austria.

Small place with a long history

St. Christoph is at an altitude of 1765 m above sea level. And therefore one of the highest ski resorts in Austria and the Eastern Alps. Today, the place is a pure tourist center within the Arlberg resort and is part of the municipality of St. Anton am Arlberg.

St. Christoph am Arlberg is famous for its central and important role in the development of alpine skiing and the Austrian ski schools.

Saint Christophorus offered protection and shelterTransfer Innsbruck St. Christoph Heinrich Findelkind Galerie

According to history, St. Christoph owes its existence to an orphan named Heinrich. In the 14th century, the shepherd, Heinrich Findelkind of Nasserein, collected donations for the construction of a shelter called Hospiz with a chapel dedicated to Saint Christophorus. He was able to save many travellers lives who crossed the Arlberg Pass in winter from the death of frost.

The Hospiz was extended to the hotel later in the 20th century, while the accompanying chapel became a monument protected building.

Today the “Heinrich Findelkind” gallery at St. Christoph reminds us of this honourable man.

Incredible ski dimension

Since the winter season 2016/2017, St. Christoph is part of the closed circle of the Arlberg skiing resort. From here you have direct access to the 87 most modern lifts of the Arlberg.

305 km marked downhill runs for all abilities, sporting challenges on 200 km outdoor options, snowboard fun parks, carving areas, permanent racetracks and many cosy meeting places ensure variety and pleasure.

All information about the ski pass of the “Arlberg Bergbahnen” can be found here.

If you bring your skis along on your transfer Innsbruck St. Christoph, they are very welcome. We have enough space in our vehicles.

Closing the loop!

The Flexenbahn opens in winter 2016/17 and makes skiing on the Arlberg even more versatile and comfortable. Through the new connection between Zürs and Stuben / Rauz, skiers can easily reach all places on the Arlberg on skis. This makes Ski Arlberg the largest connected ski resort in Austria!
